FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

Digital Services Portal — High Court of Sindh

Website: https://digital.shc.gov.pk/

A. General Information

The Digital Services Portal is an online facility designed to make judicial services more accessible to litigants, advocates, and the general public. It enables users to apply for Electronic Certified True Copies (eCTCs), access digital copies where available, and track the status of their eCTC applications.

The portal provides facilities relating to:

  • Online applications for Certified True Copies of judicial documents.
  • Access to digital copies, where available and permitted.
  • Checking the status of eCTC applications through an Application ID.
  • Electronic payment of applicable fees through a Payment Slip ID (PSID) using supported payment channels.
  • Assistance through the Archive Branch / One Window facility of the Respective Courts for applicants who require help.

Litigants, parties to cases, advocates, and other eligible applicants may use the portal to access the services available to them, subject to applicable rules, requirements, and permissions.

B. Electronic Certified True Copy (eCTC)

An Electronic Certified True Copy (eCTC) is a copy of a judicial document that has been officially certified by the competent authority of the Court as a true copy of the original record, in accordance with applicable rules and procedures.

You can apply by visiting https://digital.shc.gov.pk/ and following the instructions provided on the portal. Enter the required case and applicant particulars, select the relevant document or service, provide any information or supporting documents requested by the system, and submit your application.

Please retain your Application ID for future reference and status tracking.

Yes. The online application facility enables eligible applicants to submit their applications through the Digital Services Portal without initially visiting the Court for this purpose. However, a physical visit may be required if the applicable procedure, verification requirements, or collection arrangements so require.

Yes. The portal provides access to digital copies where the relevant document is available and access is permitted. Availability may depend on the nature of the document, the case record, and applicable Court rules.

No. A digital copy and a Certified True Copy are not necessarily the same. An Electronic Certified True Copy (eCTC) carries official certification by the competent authority, whereas a digital copy may simply provide electronic access to a document. Applicants should select the appropriate service according to their requirements and applicable rules.

C. Assistance at the High Court

You do not need to be computer-literate to benefit from these services. If you are unable to submit an application online yourself, you may visit the High Court of Sindh and seek assistance from the designated staff at the Archive Branch / One Window of the Respective Court. The staff can guide and assist you in submitting your application through the digital system.

No agent is necessary merely to access the online application facility. Eligible applicants may submit their applications themselves or seek assistance from the designated Archive Branch / One Window staff of the Respective Court. Applicable official fees, if any, must be paid through the prescribed payment process.

To facilitate the application process, bring the available case particulars, such as the case number, names of the parties, relevant document details, and your identification or authorization documents where required. The designated staff can guide you regarding any additional information or documents necessary for your application.

D. Online Payments and PSID

Where a fee is applicable, payment can be made electronically through the prescribed Payment Slip ID (PSID) generated or provided through the relevant payment process. Applicants should follow the payment instructions displayed by the system.

The PSID-based payment process supports electronic payment through participating banks and supported digital payment channels. Depending on the available payment arrangements, these may include:

  • Internet and mobile banking services of participating banks.
  • Bank payment channels supporting PSID payments.
  • Easypaisa.
  • JazzCash.
  • Other supported payment channels made available through the prescribed system.

Please verify the available channels and payment instructions when generating or paying your PSID.

Not necessarily. Where supported, the PSID can be paid electronically through participating banking and digital payment channels, including supported mobile payment services. This allows applicants to pay applicable fees conveniently without making a separate physical visit solely for payment.

A Payment Slip ID (PSID) is a unique payment reference used to identify and process a payment through the relevant electronic payment system. Applicants should use the correct PSID and pay the amount specified by the system.

If the amount has been deducted but the payment or application status has not been updated, retain your payment receipt or transaction reference and allow time for the payment to be reconciled. If the status remains unchanged, seek assistance through the designated support channel or the relevant Court counter. Avoid making a duplicate payment until the original transaction has been checked.

E. Application Status and Follow-up

Visit https://digital.shc.gov.pk/, locate the Check eCTC Application Status facility, enter your Application ID, and select the status-check option to view the information available for your application.

An Application ID is a reference used to identify your submitted application. Keep it safe because you may need it to check your application status, follow up on a pending application, or obtain assistance from the relevant office.

If you lose your Application ID, contact or visit the designated eCTC office or support counter and provide the available case particulars and applicant information to seek assistance in identifying your application. Any verification required by the Court must be completed.

Processing time may vary depending on the type of document requested, the availability of the judicial record, verification requirements, and the applicable Court procedure. Applicants should use the online status facility to follow the progress of their applications.

Check the application status through the portal first. If further information, correction, or clarification is required, follow the instructions provided by the relevant office or contact the designated support counter with your Application ID and case particulars.

F. Security and Important Information

Applicants should use the prescribed PSID-based payment process and the payment channels supported by the system. Always verify the PSID and payable amount before confirming a transaction, and retain the payment receipt for future reference.

Share your Application ID or payment reference only when necessary for an authorized purpose. Never disclose your banking password, PIN, one-time password (OTP), or other confidential banking credentials to anyone claiming to assist with your application.

Check that you have entered the correct information and that your internet connection is working. If the problem persists, retain any relevant error message, Application ID, or transaction reference and seek assistance through the designated support channel or the Archive Branch / One Window of the Respective Court.

For assistance with online applications, payment-related difficulties, or access to digital services, visit https://digital.shc.gov.pk/ or approach the designated Archive Branch / One Window of the Respective Court or relevant eCTC counter at the High Court of Sindh.

Important Notice: All applications, payments, certifications, and access to judicial documents remain subject to the applicable rules, prescribed fees, verification requirements, and procedures of the High Court of Sindh. The availability of a digital copy does not, by itself, mean that the document is an Electronic Certified True Copy (eCTC).
